How Does It Work?

Each player takes on a unique role, such as Security Engineer, Analyst, or GRC Lead, each with special abilities that reflect real-world cybersecurity practices. - Build Your Defenses:
Players purchase and activate controls—tools based on the NIST Cybersecurity Framework—to counter threats. These controls must be staffed to function, and trained staff provide additional bonuses. - Face the Threats:
Teams roll dice and combine bonuses from their controls and staff to defend against escalating cyber threats like phishing, ransomware, and insider attacks. - Manage Resources:
Budget, staff, and timing are critical. Send staff to training for long-term benefits or retrain them to adapt to changing threats—just watch your spending! - Complications Add Drama:
Unexpected events, such as audits, budget cuts, and vendor issues, challenge teams to think critically and adjust their strategies on the fly.
